Argentinian youngster Thiago Almada has revealed he plays as Manchester City on his Playstation and used to watch Carlos Tevez at the club.
Almada, who is described as the jewel of Argentina in his homeland, has been heavily linked with a move to Etihad since April last year when City were first named as suitors.
They have been routinely named as suitors for his signature since, with it looking like they’d finalised the deal before they gave up in August last year.
Still, they remain keen, a report from AS this week claiming that Manchester City were the ‘most dangerous’ side in the race for his signature.
“I really like Manchester City,” he told TNT Sports.
“I watched Carlos (Tevez) when he played on Saturday mornings.
“I play the Playstation with Manchester City. I’ve always liked them.”
Manchester City are not the only club to have been linked with a move for Almada, with Atlético Madrid also thought to be keen on his signature.
Indeed, reports this week indicated the Spanish side were ready to compete with City for the 19-year-old’s signature.
Almada, though, says there has been no contact with Diego Simeone’s side as yet, and his focus remains on current club Vélez Sarsfield: “I don’t think so. Now I want to keep giving to the club; then I will see what happens and what is best for my family and me. Now I have my head in Velez.
“If it were up to me, I would stay in Velez. I feel very comfortable; I’m doing my whole career at the club. I feel like it’s my home.”
