Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes his old club can win the Premier League title this season. The North London side went second in the table yesterday following their victory over Manchester City at White Hart Lane.
Speaking to TalkSport, Sherwood was asked about Tottenham’s chances of winning the league this time around. Sherwood thinks they have a chance of taking the title, but the players need to believe it will happen.
The 47-year-old said the club now has good depth within the squad, which was highlighted by the fact Harry Kane or Moussa Dembele didn’t play against Manchester City.
“They have a chance. The players will think they can win it, they just need to believe. They won yesterday without Harry Kane or Dembele,” said Sherwood.
Tottenham’s 2-0 win at the weekend puts them just one point behind Manchester City after seven games. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now the only club undefeated in the Premier League this season, and also have the best defensive record.
