If there’s a man who knows a lot about the Premier League, it’s Younes Kaboul.

The French defender, currently at Watford, has spent most of his career as a centre-back in England, at clubs like Portsmouth and Tottenham.

Joining Spurs in 2010 when Harry Redknapp was in charge, the now 32-year-old left five years later under the Mauricio Pochettino regime, transferred to Sunderland before his move to Vicarage Road a year later.

Speaking about the league to France Football this week, Kaboul discussed his favourite managers, and the Argentinian isn’t very high on his list.

He said: “The one where things didn’t go well was Pochettino. On the field, nothing to say, very good manager, with a philosophy and a style of play that works.

“Personally, it’s the opposite. He’s two faced. He would say things to you and did the complete opposite behind your back. I didn’t like that, and I told him. That’s all”.

Starting the first 11 games of the season as the club’s captain under Pochettino in his first season in charge, Kaboul then mysteriously disappeared from the squad, never playing another minute in the Premier League under the Argentinian.

Now we know why.

During his time at Tottenham, Kaboul made 141 appearances, scored eight goals and picked up five assists.
