Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is in constant contact with Erling Haaland, trying to convince him to join from Manchester City in the summer.

That’s according to journalist Manu Carreño, who says Real Madrid are using the midfielder to their advantage in their efforts to get Haaland to Spain.

Haaland’s name is likely to dominate the coming months and summer transfer window, with numerous reports indicating that a release clause in his contract at Manchester City comes into effect this year.

That would put him on the radar of clubs like Real Madrid who, as well as having a longstanding interest in signing him, are in desperate need of a new, world-class centre forward.

The Spanish giants are yet to replace Karim Benzema after his departure in the summer, instead electing to make do this season and perhaps move big in 2024.

Haaland would fit the bill and the rumour mill has already started to stir, with the Spanish press gearing up to consistently link the Manchester City striker and Kylian Mbappe.

That continued this week on Cadena SER, where Manu Carreño explained Bellingham is already working on behalf of his club.

“What I get is that Bellingham and Haaland are speaking almost every week,” he said.

“Bellingham calls him, and he tells him to come to Real Madrid. They already met at Dortmund, and it seems that Haaland doesn’t like Manchester very much.”

He, though, added that ‘everything will depend’ on the striker’s desire to leave Manchester City and start a new project in Spain this summer.

What he wants to do remains to be seen but in Spain, at least, they think Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham are already hard at work setting things up.
