Inter’s return to the Champions League is huge news in Italy, and Gazzetta dello Sport mark the occasion by interviewing Nicola Berti.
The 51-year-old is the right man for the occasion, having played for both the Serie A side and Tottenham in his career, who so happen to be the Italian club’s opponents for their opening fixture.
Praising Harry Kane, as everyone does, the midfielder explained the Spurs star was the only English striker he liked, since he could do absolutely everything.
However, when asked if the England international was the man to fear in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, Berti said: “Him and the whole frontline. My X-ray of Tottenham: permeable defence, good midfield, Dembélé is really good and a phenomenal attack”.
As for his prediction, Berti was rather vague, feeling that Spurs’ experience over the past few years in the Champions League could be an advantage, even if he said that Inter could be set up to succeed more in European competitions than in the league.
With both sides having a point to prove after relatively slow starts in their respective championships, we could be in for a treat at 5.55pm.
