Sporting presidential candidate Pedro Madeira Rodrigues continues to promise a strong team to work with him in case he gets elected, with many of the names having strong links to the Premier League.
It starts with the manager. The candidate wants the former Chelsea and Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri to be the Lions’ commander this season. Even though José Peseiro has recently been hired for the job, sacking or demoting him doesn’t seem to be a problem.
Then the Portuguese press reported that Madeira Rodrigues has also met the former Chelsea and Aston Villa defender John Terry to invite him to the club.
According to local reports, Terry would initially join the Lions as a player, but could also have a job as an ambassador for the club in England.
Now as reported by A Bola, Madeira Rodrigues has announced that the former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry would join him at the club as well.
Parry, who had the CEO job at Liverpool between 1998 and 2009, would be an ‘external consultant’ for Sporting’s board. He’s considered to be a strong name to help in Madeira Rodrigues’ campaign.
Sporting’s elections are taking place on 8th of September.
