Former Leeds United forward Mirco Antenucci has spoken to the Italian media about his time at Elland Road and he believes Maurizio Sarri was right to take the Chelsea job.
The forward is currently playing for Serie A side SPAL and was key in the club retaining their top flight status last season.
Speaking to TMW’s Radio show RMC Sport, Antenucci was asked about his time in England and Sarri becoming the Chelsea manager: “Maybe he has done what is right, you can play football with more confidence: the game ends and it’s all right if you want to play football, it’s been a great experience for me. England, I like the football culture.”
Antenucci left Italian football to sign for Leeds United in 2014, and the striker had success in his first season at Leeds United when he was the top scorer at the club.
In 2016 Antenucci was released by Leeds United, but landed on his feet with Italian side SPAL, helping the club gain to promotion to Serie A in his first season.
Sarri has also made an impression in his first weeks managing in the Premier League, with his Chelsea side currently unbeaten after three games.
