Earlier today Ghana Soccer Net claimed Leeds United are the frontrunners to sign Chievo Verona forward Caleb Ekuban this summer. The Italian born Ghanaian has impressed on loan with Partizani Tirana this season, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed by former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi.
Moggi has been an advisor for Partizani Tirana since April, and last month the Italian was asked by TMW about Ekuban’s prospects.
The former Juventus chief said the 23-year-old was initially brought in on trial, and has since proven his worth for the Albanian club.
“A young man, who in Italy had no luck. They tell me he arrived in Albania, months ago on trial. Then he convinced,” said Moggi on the Leeds United target.
Leeds United are likely to bring in a forward this summer after relying on Chris Wood throughout last season. Ekuban could be an option for the Championship side, but they need to know if the player is in Chievo’s long term plans.
The forward scored 23 goals last season and subsequently the Serie A side have a decision to make in the coming weeks.
