Former Arsenal player Lauren is set to take up a role with the club, he’s explained to Marca.
The right back, now 39 years of age, is set to work with Arsenal on the commercial side of the club in Africa. Lauren joined Arsenal in 200, and left the club for Portsmouth in 2006.
At Arsenal Lauren won the Premier League twice, three FA Cups, and added two Charity Shields. In the PFA Team of the Year in 2004, Lauren was also one of Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’, and won the league without losing a game in that competition all season. Not too bad then.
Speaking to the Spanish newspaper, Lauren was asked what sorts of projects he has to work on in the short term, and explained: “Arsenal have a good project that is underway to consolidate.
“This summer we talked about uniting the social and commercial part of the club, aimed at Africa. In December I will make a trip there and in the coming months we expect other countries to enter.”
Lauren told Marca that he feels he can bring “great ideas” to the project and therefore help Arsenal with their expansion in the African market.
