Leeds United cut short Rafa Mújica’s loan stay at Real Oviedo in the winter market and sent him out on loan to UD Las Palmas on the deadline day of the last window.
Since coming off the bench against CE Sabadell in February, the striker has started in five league matches.
The Whites owned player came up through the ranks of Las Palmas’ academy before leaving them for Barcelona in 2015.
Pepe Mel’s side took Mújica on a temporary deal until the end of this season and last week they explained there’s some kind of agreement in place to keep the player for longer, should they so wish.
Las Palmas sporting director Luis Helguera has spoken about the prospect during an interview with Deportes COPE Gran Canaria.
“Rafa has components that we are evaluating. He fits into the philosophy of the club: he is a Canarian, a fan of the Unión Deportiva and there are many components for him to continue,” he said.
“He is contributing and having a good performance. He has integrated into the team’s dynamics and was what we were looking for in the winter market, that he had a short adaptation period.”
The Las Palmas director didn’t specify if his side are “evaluating” to sign Mújica on another loan deal or a permanent transfer.
