If you’re reading this story, you probably know everything that has been happening between Liverpool and Sergio Ramos over the past week or so, but we’ll explain it anyway.
It started in the Champions League final, with the Real Madrid defender being accused of injuring Liverpool star Mohamed Salah on purpose.
Besides taking the Egyptian out of the game, Sergio Ramos was also involved in another controversial play, as he clashed with goalkeeper Loris Karius inside the Reds’ box.
Exams have revealed this week that Karius had a head concussion, which maybe led him to making the mistakes resulting in Real Madrid’s goals.
Sergio Ramos has later defended himself against these claims, saying “All is missing is for Firmino to say he got a cold because a bead of my sweat landed on him.”
So now it’s time for Roberto Firmino to respond. The player has given a press conference at Brazil’s training camp on Wednesday, and was obviously questioned about Ramos’ quotes.
“I’d rather not comment, I think it’s in the reason he was a champion and everything, I thought it was stupid of him, but that’s okay.” (via Globo Esporte)
The Liverpool striker also talked about the friendly against Croatia, which was played at Anfield Road, where he ended up scoring a late goal.
“I was very proud to be playing in my home, very happy, but on the other hand, with the national team. A preparation game for the World Cup, a tough match against a very good team, the most important thing is that the team made a good game and left with the victory.”
Firmino was asked about Alisson, who’s been linked to Liverpool lately, and claimed he’s been inviting the national teammate to sign for the club: “Every once in a while I give him a pinch to come to Liverpool to help us and such, but it’s with his agents. It would not hurt if he came to Liverpool.”
