If losing 4-0 to Liverpool wasn’t bad enough for LASK in the Europa League, they also returned to Austria with an unwanted present.

That’s what their manager, Thomas Sageder, told the media, revealing that on top of Ibrahim Mustapha, Philipp Ziereis and Ivan Ljubic all picking up injuries, other players came home with a ‘mysterious infection’, as Laola1 call it.

Explaining that Sascha Horvath “fell ill overnight” with a fever, nausea and a headache, Robert Zulj also suffered the same symptoms “during the bus ride”.

The two players aren’t the only ones who have picked this up either, as Sageder added: “I hope it doesn’t spread. One or two of the coaching team already have a headache and are a little unwell.”

This all happened in the short break they had ahead of the 0-0 draw against Austria Wien after the Liverpool game, and the team have been taking measures to try and stop it getting worse.

Players aren’t allowed to shake hands, and sit far away from each other meetings, while they all slept in single rooms to ensure there was no close contact outside of official duties either.

In short, the trip to Liverpool wasn’t ideal for LASK, who will be hoping things get better quickly.
