Super Deporte’s Tuesday take on Sandro Ramirez to Valencia focuses very much on Simone Zaza and the Italian’s knee problems.
Given that everything which can be said has been said on the potential Everton transfer, new tangents are being brought in, and this one makes it sound like Zaza’s meniscus could crumble at any time.
Right now, Valencia aren’t desperate for Sandro. The former Malaga wouldn’t walk straight into the team and would have to take a place on the bench, although he’d be expected to get minutes.
Even that’s a much better situation than he currently lives at Everton. If it wasn’t for rumours about a January transfer, it may be possible to forget Sandro actually still exists.
Super Deporte say the big Zaza fear is meniscus related, not ankle as some believe, he ‘may carry on until the end of the season’ but the insinuation is that he may not, and the knee part finally give way.
That’s why there’s so much motivation at Valencia to sign Sandro from Everton.
Simone Zaza has become something of a cult hero at Valencia. Arriving from West Ham with big hopes attached, it didn’t go swimmingly at the start of this season, and even the player’s girlfriend complained via social media.
Marcelino, Valencia’s manager, just needed to understand Zaza better. He’s special. Etc etc…
Whatever changed, it’s working.
