Following the recent reports claiming Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to leave Manchester United this summer, one of the clubs pointed out as a potential destination for him was Napoli.
It was claimed the Serie A side were one of the interested clubs and could give him the chance of returning to Italian football after one season at Old Trafford.
But the chances of signing the Manchester United star have now been ruled out by the Neapolitan media. As RAI Sport shared news on Napoli’s transfer plans for the rest of the window, journalist Ciro Venerato made it clear that a pursuit for the Portuguese player is not in the works.
Napoli, however, may be interested in signing another Manchester United player, and that’s Eric Bailly.
It’s claimed that if the club sell Kalidou Koulibaly, they’ll need a big signing as his replacement, and according to Venerato, the Ivorian is on the list, which also includes the likes of Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, and Pepe Abou Cisse, who plays for Olympiacos.
It’s not said how much would the Serie A side like to spend on him.
