Robin Koch has been a regular for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining them on loan from Leeds United in the last window. He’s managed a goal and an assist from 12 matches this season.
The defender was a guest on the German club’s latest podcast, Eintracht vom Main, where he revealed it was “wasn’t an easy situation” for him after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League last season, and his comments are relayed by SGE4ever.de.
The Leeds owned player has admitted that he’s delighted with his decision to join the Bundesliga side and is feeling “comfortable” at the club.
When discussing the Bundesliga side’s impressive defence, the centre-back talked about Leeds’ back line from last season.
Leeds had the worst defensive record as they conceded 78 goals in the league last season and the 27-year-old has explained the reason for that, or at least as he sees it.
“At Leeds there was a lot of pressing and therefore extreme risk at the back. Of course, it’s more pleasant for a defender to keep a clean sheet or generally concede a few goals,” Koch explained.
“We [Eintracht Frankfurt] don’t just defend with three people. It starts at the front. That’s why it’s important that the whole team gets involved.”
