On April 7th, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained that Newcastle United ‘have moved’ for Paulo Dybala.
Claims made by Corriere are relayed by Napoli Piu, who then go on to provide their own information about the Tyneside club.
Although the Magpies have moved for the Juventus player, it’s made clear they ‘would not have gone beyond a mere expression of interest’.
The forward’s current deal with the Serie A side expires in June. Maurizio Arrivabene, the Turin club’s CEO, revealed last month the 28-year-old will leave the club as a free agent after the end of this season.
Although Eddie Howe’s side are in the mix, Giorgio Perinetti has advised the Argentina international to make a switch elsewhere. He was at Palermo between 2013 and 2014, when Dybala was at the same club.
“Napoli would be the perfect place for Dybala, he is Argentine and knows the Italian league well. Napoli would be the top for a player like him, then I don’t know what he will choose. I would not only tell Paulo to go to Napoli, but for him particulary, because it is his ideal place,” Perinetti told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, relayed by Napoli Piu.
Dybala has managed 13 goals and six assists from 30 matches in all competitions this season for Juventus.
