Marc Muniesa has been on the verge of a return to Spanish football on more than one occasion since he signed for Stoke City.
The defender has made no secret of his desire to return to Spain, and whilst there’s been no shortage of interest, previous attempts haven’t been enough to please Stoke.
The size of Spanish club attracted to Muniesa doesn’t really give great opportunity for a good transfer fee, and there’s been no serious attempt from the defender to force his way out, not that it would have convinced the Potters anyway.
According to AS, and others in Spain, the time for an exit has finally come. Muniesa is ‘ready to sign’ for Girona, and the Spanish newspaper believes a transfer will be completed in the ‘coming days’.
There’s been this level of confidence previously on a Stoke City exit for Muniesa, but this time it feels like the end of the road has finally come.
It’s probably best not to rule out any last minute money problems.
