It’s now time for the Brazilian press to report Willian’s deal to join Arsenal.
Outlet UOL says they’ve managed to confirm the information from the English media, and the winger is indeed signing a three-year deal with the Gunners.
Columnist Danilo Lavieri writes that the negotiations have been handled by agent Kia Joorabchian, with the approval of club director Edu Gaspar, who has a ‘good relationship’ with Willian from their time at the Brazilian national team.
The report claims that both parts are ‘cautious’ when speaking about the deal because there’s nothing signed yet. Still, the ‘expectation from the player’s entourage’ is the agreement could be announced next week.
Willian’s choice to sign for Arsenal had already been reported in Brazil on Monday, when ESPN journalist Bruno Vicari said the length of contract offered by the Gunners was crucial for the decision.
The player had made public that Chelsea were only offering him a two-year deal, and it seems he’s stick to his word by leaving the Blues for a longer contract.
