Gabriel Jesus’ agent has denied knowledge of any proposals from Manchester City for the player.
When asked by Sport Witness about City’s offer, Cristiano Simões replied: “What offer?”
Despite the denial, the 19-year-old’s transfer to the Premier League club seems quite certain in Brazil. Now it’s the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo who have confirmed the information.
Estadão says the price could raise to up to €35m with the performance bonuses. Palmeiras have already accepted it, and now Gabriel is expected to sign a five-year contract.
Earlier today, Globo claimed that the wonderkid was convinced by Pep Guardiola after a fifteen minute call from the Manchester City boss. However, the player asked to only go to England in January.
With so many claims from reliable outlets, it’s a bit difficult to believe that no offers have come for the player so far. Maybe Gabriel’s entourage still have the hope of receiving better bids before he signs for Pep Guardiola’s side, or maybe he’s just being extremely coy.
