Today is a big day for Bruno Guimarães, as Athletico Paranaense play the Copa do Brasil final against Internacional.
The 21-year-old midfielder scored the winner in the first leg last week, which Chelsea watched, and now has a much harder challenge as his side travel to Porto Alegre for the decisive match.
Bruno Guimarães knows he’s being watched by several clubs, and all of them see the final as the most important match of his season.
Sport Witness has learned that Chelsea continue to be in touch with Athletico Paranaense for the signing, and will have a representative watch him at Beira Rio tonight.
We could also confirm that Atletico Madrid have a bigger chance to land the midfielder.
They’ve acquired a buying option to sign him from Athletico in a €30m deal, and in case a club offer more than that, they still get the chance to match the bid, always with the preference.
For Chelsea, that may prove a problem, depending on Atletico’s intentions.
The player is currently protected by a release clause of €40m.
