Last month, multiple reports coming out of the Catalan media explained Manchester City are interested in Barcelona’s Nélson Semedo.
On April 30th, Sport explained the Premier League winners are close to agreeing a deal with the La Liga winners for the right-back and João Cancelo will move to the Camp Nou as part of the deal.
Monday’s edition of the same newspaper claims the Portugal international ‘has a foot and a half’ outside Barca.
Quique Setién’s side have cancelled renewal talks with the defender’s agent Jorge Mendes and the Blaugrana have been working for months, to get an offer in excess of €40m.
According to Sport, there’s a ‘lot of interest’ in Semedo and ‘everything indicates’ his next destination will be Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side ‘loved him’ last summer, but failed to complete the deal.
City have an opportunity to sign the player in the upcoming window but despite their ‘great interest’ in him, the newspaper states the two clubs are still far from finding an agreement.
Today’s edition of Sport doesn’t mention Cancelo and whether or not he will be included as part of an operation to sign Semedo.
