Newcastle United’s interest in the signing of Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio is back on being commented by the Portuguese media today.
This time it’s A Bola who features a story on the chase, claiming the Magpies could be back with another attempt following their January bid.
The newspaper says ‘everything indicates’ Newcastle will try again, this time with ‘higher numbers’ on the table, which could make Sporting ‘think’ about the sale.
Still, A Bola claims there’s only way the Magpies can be assured of a summer transfer. That’s if paying for his release clause, which stands at €45m.
The report claims Newcastle seem to be the club are willing to go ‘the highest’ to sign Gonçalo Inácio this summer, even though there are ‘one of the most powerful’ clubs in Italy looking for his signing as well.
It had previously been claimed that the Magpies offered €30m to land the defender, so Sporting now wait to see how much will be on the table this time.
