With Jorginho winning his first international title last night, we had no doubts that his agent would soon be speaking to the Italian media about the player’s future.
The Chelsea midfielder has spent the last couple of years being linked to a move back to Italy, where the likes of Juventus and Napoli have been said to be interested in his signing.
This morning, we’ve seen newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming the Blues aren’t interested in selling him, and his price will only get bigger following the Euro title.
However, as his representative speaks to the local media once again, his words continue to give a little hope to any club who dream of his signing.
João Santos was interviewed by CalcioMercato.it, and was asked about the interest from Juventus and the big clubs from Spain.
“I confirm it, these interests have arrived. Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him.”
The agent was also quizzed if Jorginho will continue at Chelsea, and, like last week, when he claimed the player wants a new contract, he once again threw the responsibility to the club.
“He has a two-year contract and everything is in the club’s hands. There’s the Clubs World Cup, there’s the European Super Cup. For a footballer these are important goals. But, the transfer market is always the transfer market and if a major club comes forward seriously with Chelsea then we will evaluate. At the moment, Jorginho will play it at Chelsea next season.”
