It seems that São Paulo are now leading the race for the signing of Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes.
Through the past week, outlets from Brazil have been reporting a big battle for the 25-year-old, as the likes of Internacional and Palmeiras are also interested in him.
Now in an update brought by ESPN Brasil journalist André Plihal, it’s claimed that ‘everything is agreed’ for a one-year loan deal with São Paulo. The reporter claims the Tricolor now must only get to a deal with the player’s Italian agent.
Meanwhile, Band journalist João Pedro Sgarbi also says there’s a verbal agreement for the move, now with ‘big chances’ of happening.
Following the recovery from a knee surgery, Wesley Moraes started the season at Aston Villa and ended up being loaned to Brugge until the end of the season.
The striker, however, isn’t getting enough minutes in Belgium, and is said to be keen on a return to Brazil.
With the player not shining in Europe, Villa are expected to let him move to a place where he can have regular playing time and perhaps recover the football which convinced the Premier League side to spend €25m on his signing in 2019.
