With so many of their centre-backs seemingly set to run down their contract at Stamford Bridge, it’s only normal for centre-backs to be linked with a move to Chelsea.

César Azpilicueta, Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen are all about to enter the final six months of their deal come January, and therefore will be free to speak to clubs abroad about a potential free transfer.

While one, if not two, will probably stay, there will likely be a departure, and that’s why Chelsea have been linked with Attila Szalai.

The Hungary international has been impressing with his country and at Fenerbahce since his arrival from Apollon Limassol last January, and an exit in the next window has already been talked about.

In fact, he’s a player Chelsea ‘have been following for some time’, according to Calciomercato, describing him as defender ‘has everything to break through’.

However, the Blues aren’t the only ones interested, with it pointed out that Napoli are ready to ‘challenge’ the Premier League side for his signing following the sale of Kostas Manolas to Olympiakos.

One to keep an eye on.
