There’s now been countless reports from the Italian and Spanish media that Alexandr Golovin could be set to join Chelsea this summer.
Golovin excelled at the World Cup for Russia and that inevitably brought transfer interest from around Europe.
The first club to be strongly linked were Juventus, but the Turin media appear to have forgotten all about that now, given they’ve moved on to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Then came Chelsea, and it felt there was an assumption that because Golovin is Russian, and the club’s owner Roman Abramovich is also Russian, there has to be interest and an advanatge for the Stamford Bridge club.
Mundo Deportivo on Monday claim that those around the player, both at the Russian national team and with his club CSKA Moscow ‘assumes’ a transfer to Chelsea is happening.
It’s then stated that much will depend on whoever the new coach is at Chelsea and whether he’ll feel Golovin is ready for the team.
Marina Granivskaia is said to ‘want him in the first team’, although it may be a stretch for Mundo Deportivo to claim they know what the Chelsea director is thinking.
