There’s no denying that the transfer of Destiny Udogie to Tottenham has been a success.

The defender was bought from Udinese before being immediately sent back on loan to the Serie A side to get some game time before arriving for good this season.

Ange Postecoglou wasted no time using him after taking over at Tottenham, and TuttoMercatoWeb detail his evolution from a young talent at Hellas Verona to the regular starter we now see in London.

Fast forwarding to his move to England, they recall how he lived up to the big expectations after his return to Udinese, where he had to perform after securing his future move to the Premier League.

Then, his first few months at Tottenham were a ‘fairytale start’, with two assists in nine games, helping his team top the table for a few weeks.

Red card against Chelsea aside, the player has convinced everyone in England, where they are ‘already crazy about him’, from his talent to his ‘resourcefulness’ and his ‘courage’.

This led him to be picked by the Italy manager, Luciano Spalletti, leading to his first assist within 11 minutes against Malta.

He missed out on the last international break with an injury, but that doesn’t matter because ‘the signs are clear’, and the Tottenham player has ‘everything to become a crack’.

Now, only ‘time will tell’ if he fulfils his potential, as he turns 21 years of age today.
