Back at Everton after his loan with Aston Villa was terminated early, Yannick Bolasie is on the lookout for a new club, and Belgium could be his landing spot.
Earlier rumours suggested Anderlecht in the Jupiler Pro League were interested in signing him, and the Toffees’ forward isn’t against a move there, having already started travelling to Brussels to hold further discussions.
Contacted by HLN in Belgium, the DR Congo international said that he needed to play in order to be fit for the Africa Cup of Nations, while a move away from Goodison Park to Constant Vanden Stock Stadion could be ‘interesting’ for him.
“I have seen the information circulate, I don’t say ‘no’. After all, I have to play with a view to the Africa Cup that is coming.”
During his time at Villa Park, the Everton winger made 21 appearances in the Championship, scored two goals and picked up five assists.
The Aston Villa move was put together last summer after Bolasie’s lengthy recovery from a cruciate ligament rupture, but with that being now cancelled and Marco Silva seemingly reluctant to include him in his plans, another avenue is now being looked at.
With just over seven hours left in the transfer window, anything can happen, and there are worse places to end up than Anderlecht for the 29-year-old.
