The news comes from the Portuguese media, where outlet O Jogo covers Sporting’s pursuit of the player.
They start by highlighting the Lions’ confidence in the signing, as the Lisbon club believe they’ll reach a deal for the 25-year-old.
O Jogo write that Toffees’ boss Sean Dyche told the club he needs a new centre-forward. Therefore, Everton ‘will present a formal proposal’ for Gyökeres this week.
For now, it isn’t said how much Everton are putting on the table to get the transfer done.
