Barcelona’s big summer of sales isn’t really getting anywhere quickly.
The Catalan club want to offload some fringe players to help them bring in funds for purchases, and whilst they have offers for several there’s nothing close to being completed.
Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports Barca have ‘offers on the table’ for Andre Gomes, Jasper Cillessen and Malcom.
The Portuguese midfielder is said to be ‘between Everton and West Ham’, although there’s no further details on which Premier League club is leading the race at this stage.
A few weeks ago it was claimed in Spain that Gomes was on the verge of a move to Tottenham, but that’s been the same pretty much every transfer window since he moved to Barcelona. It was possible Spurs were being used to put pressure on Everton, with Barca wanting €30m+ and the Toffees likely trying to keep the cost down.
Then came a big West Ham flurry, but that too has calmed a little now, although the Hammers are still stated as being in the chase.
Barca would like to get some sales done before the end of June.
