Everton ‘want’ Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, according to reports coming out of Turkey.
The Yellow Canaries signed the 21-year-old from Ankaragücü in 2019 and has been the first-choice custodian, starting 65 matches in the league in the last two seasons.
His club form helped him debut for Turkey during the friendly tie against Azerbaijan last month.
Bayındır’s performances for the Süper Lig side have seen him end up on the transfer radar as the Toffees, Ajax and Sevilla want to take the keeper. That’s according to Fanatik.
The newly capped Turkey international has a contract until 2023 and the Süper Lig side are ‘not very keen’ to sell him this summer.
Fanatik, however, explain Fenerbahçe management will open the door for negotiations, starting from €20m.
If the Merseyside club and other interested parties are ready to ‘accept the demands’ set by Fenerbahçe, then ‘the transfer can take place’.
AS Roma’s Robin Olsen spent last season on loan at Everton, playing as a back-up to Jordan Pickford. If the Premier League side were to sign Bayındır, he could take Olsen’s place in the squad next season.
