AC Milan are readying themselves to be one of the big players on this summer’s transfer market, and their apparent pursuit of Alvaro Morata is proving that.

Already tying down Atalanta’s Franck Kessiè, the Serie A side have now turned their attention to Torino’s Andrea Belotti in case they cannot secure the Real Madrid striker, and a bid of €60m could be made.

That’s a lot of money for them, even if they have recently been taken over by Chinese investors, and some sales are to be expected in the coming months to balance the books a bit. That’s where Everton come in.

One of those is said to be the departure of M’Baye Niang, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Watford, and who is reportedly a target for Everton.

The France U21 international made 16 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring two goals and picking up two assists, and that appears to have been enough to convince Ronald Koeman to bring him to Goodison Park.

The interest in Everton has been around for a week or so, but Corriere dello Sport on Monday seem pretty convinced of the move happening, as they state that’s how Milan will fund their move for a big striker.

That still means they are to spend €42m of their own cash on him, but the departure of either one of (or both) Carlos Bacca and Gianluca Lapadula could help fund that too.

It’s the start of a new era in Milan, and Everton could very help kickstart it in the coming weeks.
