According to reports Italy, Davy Klaassen’s proposed loan move to Napoli from Everton has hit problems.

The Netherlands international has been linked with the Serie A side in this window, with claims yesterday a deal with Everton was close.

TMW have reported in the last hour that talks between Napoli and Klaassen have stalled because of image rights. Discussions have been taking place in the last 24 hours, and it seemed quite possible the Everton midfielder would be moving to Napoli before today’s deadline.

It’s reported talks will continue, and it’s hoped they can come to agreement over the issue.

Klaassen only joined Everton in the last window from Ajax when former manager Ronald Koeman brought him to Goodison Park, but he’s failed to hold down a place in the team.

The player continued to be snubbed by caretaker manager David Unsworth, and he’s yet to play under current boss Sam Allardyce.

Davy Klaassen, image rights? Modern football.
