Scouts from Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on the Porto youngster Diogo Leite.
As reported by Portuguese newspaper Record today, club officials watched the defender in Porto’s UEFA Youth League match against Tottenham Hotspur this week.
Emissaries from Everton would be excited with Leite’s evolution, and should continue to monitor him considering a possible signing in the future.
The defender has recently turned 19 years of age, and Record makes sure to say that he has just renewed his contract with Porto, with the new deal now running until 2021.
They also claim that Leite’s expectation is to continue evolving at Porto and get closer to the first team, something that has already happened to some of his former teammates, who are now part of the main squad.
Now it’s up to Everton to go for the player while he’s at Porto B or wait for him to succeed in the first team.
The difference, of course, is the money the Dragons will demand in each case.
