There’s a sale on at French champions Lille, with the club needing to raise some money despite taking the Ligue 1 crown from PSG on Sunday evening.
Lille don’t have one player they can sell for around €80m, so instead they’re having to see the exits of multiple champions. An additional issue is players having contracts ending in June 2022, and it’s those who being edged towards the exit first.
It’s not just players, manager Christophe Galtier has already announced he’s leaving, and Lille fans must be caught in two minds at the moment, stuck between celebrating and worrying about the coming campaign.
L’Equipe take a look at the situation in their Wednesday edition, with Everton and Tottenham named as the possible destination for one of Lille’s team.
According to the French newspaper, Tottenham and Everton are keen on Zeki Celik.
The 24 year-old is a right back and played 29 Ligue 1 games for Lille last season, scoring three goals and adding the same number of assists. It’s stated Everton and Tottenham have followed the player since his impressive 2018/19 season.
AS Roma are also credited with an interest, and L’Equipe believe a move to Serie A could be likelier. There’s a good chance of that changing should either Spurs or the Toffees convert their interest into a serious effort.
