As part of their summer rebuild this summer, Atletico Madrid haven’t held back on spending big and bringing players into the club.
Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata have both arrived on permanent deals and, coupled with Diego Costa, there is stiff competition for forwards at the club.
That’s left some players on the fringes, and one of them is Angel Correa. There is no place for the Argentine at the Wanda Metropolitano, and he’s being linked with a move away from the club.
AC Milan are a side linked with his signature but Sport Mediaset report today (via Planet Milan) that their interest is cooling and instead, his next destination could be the Premier League.
They report that Everton and Tottenham are showing an interest in Correa this summer and are now ‘pressing’ on the South American, the Toffees inclusion is notable seeing as they’ve not really been in the story.
There’s no mention of a fee or whether Correa would be interested in either move, just that both clubs are showing interest in the player. Neither seem particularly likely, though.
Everton have their interest on other forwards this summer, notably Moise Kean, and although they are on the hunt for a player that can play all across the front three, Correa is more than likely to be a backup option at best.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have been linked before this window but they’ve set their sights on other targets as well this summer. Perhaps, as is often the case, the Premier League duo are being used to try and push Milan now their interest is waning.
