At the end of last month, we covered claims from Sport that Everton are interested in Jean-Clair Todibo after Schalke decided against making his loan deal permanent.
‘Todibo is a gold mine for Barça’, reads the headline in today’s edition of Sport.
It’s claimed the centre-back has received the most offers of any player at Barcelona and he can help the La Liga winners raise funds in the summer.
Quique Setién’s side have ‘received firm proposals’ from the Premier League and the offers are in excess of €25m, including fixed fee and variables.
The club that has ‘tightened the most’ for the Frenchman is Everton.
In principle, the Blaugrana’s idea was to sell the defender to the highest bidder.
However, Inter Milan like him and that could change everything because Todibo could be used as a part of the deal to sign Lautaro Martínez. He could also be included in a swap deal involving Neymar with Paris Saint-Germain.
Sport states that for now, Barcelona are prioritising Inter, but they ‘do not close the door to anything’, which should come as encouragement for Everton.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are negotiating for Todibo’s transfer and it remains to be seen if Everton can overcome the competition to acquire his services.
