Yerry Mina to Everton has seemed to have something behind it for a while, if only for how the Catalan media have treated the rumour.
The Goodison Park club were linked first and then followed by their neighbours Liverpool, but it was insisted in Barcelona that whilst the Toffees interest was backed up by sources at that end, the same couldn’t be said for the Reds.
Since then the situation has dragged on and Mina needs to have a chat with Barca manager Ernesto Valverde to be told, probably, that he has no place at the club at least for next season.
Barca have signed Clement Lenglet from Sevilla, and Mina has slipped further away from the team despite his good World Cup.
On Friday afternoon, Sport have comments Mina’s agent and uncle Jair has given to Spanish radio, and Everton interest is openly backed up.
“I had communication with the Everton sports director (Marcel Brands). Yerry has many offers, but his dream is to play at Baça.”
Jair Mina said that before the next step is taken, Barcelona will have to inform the defender they want to part ways. That should happen soon.
