Unless you’re an avid Blackburn Rovers fan (if you are, we’re not sure why you’re reading this), the name Bryan Dabo probably doesn’t mean much to you, but it could do very soon.

According to La Gazette des Transferts, the 24-year-old defensive midfielder, currently contracted to Montpellier where he started his career, is of interest to a couple of Premier League clubs.

Dabo, who spent six months on loan at Blackburn during the 2013-14 season where he failed to make a first-team appearances, completed his first full season with his childhood club last year, impressing along the way.

Showing great versatility, filling in the centre of the pitch, at right-back and even as a right-winger, the 6’2” France U21 international could certainly be a great buy for any Premier League team needing cover.

The French magazine say the Ligue 1 side would be willing to let him go if the right offer came in, and at an estimated €2m, he’d probably end up being a bargain.

The two English clubs mentioned as interested are Swansea and Everton, and while the Welsh interest makes sense, the Toffees, with all their new money and ambitious project, would/should probably try and aim a little bit higher.

Then again, if the fee is so low, it’s not really a risk, is it?
