Ronald Koeman continues to be linked to Barcelona, and whilst not one of the most talked about candidates, or one of the favourites, some, perhaps older, fans of the club would be keen.
The Everton manager is the subject of a huge Sport spread on Thursday, taking the first five pages of the Catalan newspaper. Koeman admitted it’s a ‘dream’ to manage Barcelona, and very much sat on the fence when asked how he’d respond to them contacting him now.
It’s a balancing act.
The other Catalan newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, have a little snippet on Koeman’s chances. Xavier Bosch feels he’d be the choice with the ‘most football credibility’, given his past as a player.
Koeman would be able to motivate the stars, and also be tough with them, and they’d have to respect his achievements, which hasn’t always been the case with Barcelona coaches. It’s probably Mundo Deportivo glancing at Zinedine Zidane’s success at Real Madrid.
Everton shouldn’t worry too much, the Bosch column sounds very much like his personal opinion, rather than what he believes the club think.
