Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã brought a story today saying Arsenal are interested in signing Benfica star Rafa Silva.

Despite highlighting the Gunners, it turns out they also had a little paragraph to talk about Everton, saying the Toffees have been chasing the 27-year-old as well.

It’s claimed that the Goodison Park side have been ‘following’ the player and have even approached his agent Antonio Araujo.

However, the Rafa Silva’s poor form this season made the interest from the Toffees cool down a little.

Rafa Silva has nine goals and six assists in 25 appearances for Benfica this season. He’s unlikely to match his record from the 2018/19 season, when he scored 21 times.

The winger is protected by a release clause of €80m, and Benfica are not to be very interested in selling him this summer.

Silva, however, is interested in finally making the move to the Premier League, after being linked to English clubs for many years.

Despite claiming the interest has weakened, Correio da Manhã says Everton are still ‘in the play’, so perhaps there’s a chance they could go for him in the summer.
