Ramiro Funes Mori has had a very up and down short Everton career. At times last season there were claims clubs such as Barcelona were interested in the player, and now he can’t get a start since Ronald Koeman signed Ashley Williams from Swansea City.
The 25 year old has been back in Argentina for the international break, and speaking to the media there.
La Nacion newspaper managed to get an interview and asked Funes Mori how his life in England is going and how he’s adjusted, to which the Everton defender replied: “They’re different cultures. You miss Argentinean football and that people sing for 90 minutes. In England, they treat football like a show, they go to enjoy a football game.”
Off the pitch, Funes Mori said his wife and son have also had to adapt, but they’re all happy, even if he’s not playing as much as he did last season.
Despite telling the same newspaper earlier this week that he could be looking for a new club if things don’t change, Funes Mori sounded calmer this time.
It being Argentina, and everything relating to Lionel Messi somehow, Funes Mori was asked if his new hairstyle took inspiration from the Barcelona player: “Many say it’s similar but for me it’s nothing to do with it… his is platinum and mine is blonde. No matter how it looks, would be good to resemble him on the pitch, right?”
Yep, and Koeman would then have to find Funes Mori a place.
