As Everton star James Rodriguez turned 30 yesterday, there were of course many messages for him on social media.
One of them came from Porto, a club he represented between 2010 and 2013, who had a post on Instagram wishing him a happy birthday.
Well, it turns out that the Toffees player responded to it in Portuguese, saying ‘Thank you! We’ll see each other soon’, and that was enough for local outlets to go out after some information and start a new transfer rumour for the summer window.
It’s newspaper O Jogo who brings a story about it today, claiming that according to their own information, James Rodriguez has the desire to be back at Porto.
It’s claimed that the Colombian star has ‘never hidden’ his wish to be back at the Estádio do Dragão, as he sees Porto as the ideal place to recover his career.
He’s also said to be very fond of the city.
The outlet points out that the midfielder, who’s entering the final year of his contract with Everton, ‘will hardly continue’ at the English side.
Still, that doesn’t mean Porto are any close on signing Rodriguez.
O Jogo says this is a deal which is ‘difficult to be made concrete’, mostly because of the big salary the player has at Everton.
