Everton, as they should be considering the amount of talent in France at the moment, are keeping an eye on an prospect in Ligue 1: Wesley Saïd.

According to Le10 Sport, the Toffees have scouted the young Dijon forward who, finally, appears to be living up to the hype that has surrounded him over the past few years in France.

Permanently leaving Rennes in the summer for £1.3m after a successful loan spell with his current club last season, the 22-year-old has now scored nine goals and picked up four assists in 27 appearances from a variety of positions this season.

Capable of playing on either wing or through the middle, Saïd can also boast being one of the most efficient young forwards in front of goal in Ligue 1, coming fifth behind the likes of Keita Baldé or Kylian Mbappé, scoring with 19% of his attempts.

Everton aren’t the only ones who are said to have taken notice, with Valencia in La Liga also taking notes and scouting the young forward recently.

This doesn’t mean he’ll be on the next plane to Liverpool, but it certainly shows where Steve Walsh’s mind is at these days.
