The brother of Everton star Richarlison, Rian, has revealed what the Blues star has taught him as he makes his first steps into European football.
Richarlison is a bonafide star at Goodison Park, having shone since arriving in a £35m deal from Watford in 2018.
The 23-year-old’s career so far has been fairytale-like in its construction, the youngster having struggled to make the breakthrough in Brazil before an eventual move to Fluminense in 2016.
He would only last a year there before his big move to Europe with Watford, where a solid first year convinced Everton and Marco Silva to splash the cash and sign him up.
He’s established himself as the key man at the club since and his impressive performances have seen him quickly rise to become a star in his home country as a result.
Despite his rapid rise, he remains a humble figure off the pitch though, with numerous stories about his efforts to help those less fortunate, particularly in his homeland.
His humility is something that has only helped to endear him to both Everton and Brazil fans, and his brother, who is set to start his own European adventure in Portugal, admits it’s something he’s learned from his older sibling.
“He is my example,” he told Mais Futbol.
“He taught me to be humble at all times. Never giving up, running after my goals.
“I have had the dream of being a player since I was very young, but of course I am inspired by what he did and what he has become.”
