Everton maintain a ‘strong interest’ in Inter Milan midfielder Matías Vecino although there has not been any official bid as yet.
The Blues have been linked with several central midfielders this month as that is a weak area for the squad at present.
Vecino is one who has been heavily linked with a move, with Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti thought to be a fan from his time at Napoli.
That is very much the case, according to FC Inter News, who say the Premier League club still have a ‘strong interest’ in signing him this month.
However, they could face disappointment if they turn that interest into something concrete as, at the moment, Vecino is not sold on the move.
He would prefer to play for a team that is still in the cup competitions, and Everton have been knocked out of both domestic trophies this year and weren’t in Europe to start with.
Everton, though, have an ‘important budget’ to sign players in this window and thus the situation will have to be ‘monitored’.
Inter Milan are keen on a sale as they want cash ‘immediately’ and Vecino is one they can sell as he is now considered ‘out of the rotation’ by Antonio Conte, leaving that door to Everton firmly open.
