Just over a week ago, we covered a story from the French media about Carlo Ancelotti’s interest in AS Saint-Étienne’s Denis Bouanga.
The Everton manager was reported by But! Football Club to be ‘campaigning’ for the signing of the Gabon international, who has enjoyed a good first season under Claude Puel following his transfer from Nîmes Olympique in the summer.
His 10 goals and three assists in 26 league appearances seemingly caught the eye of the Italian, who are in need of some winger reinforcement in the upcoming transfer window.
However, they will face competition for Bouanga, as reported by Le10 Sport on Monday.
The French website claim Valencia, who could lose Ferran Torres to a big Premier League club in the coming months, have turned their attention to the 25-year-old.
They then go on to remind everyone that Everton are ‘also very hot’ on Bouanga’s case and are expected to ‘make an offer this summer’ in the coming months.
It’s explained that following interest from Rennes and Lille, the player has ‘turned’ towards the idea of an adventure abroad should he leave Saint-Étienne, preferring to try something new than move within Ligue 1.
Good news for Everton… but also for Valencia.
