Wednesday saw Gazzetta dello Sport hand us a very large spread on Juventus’ desire to sign Moise Kean back from Everton.
We won’t recount it word for word, but the crux of the story was that the Toffees want around €50m for their striker, which the Italians can’t really afford, so a player, Carlo Ancelotti’s preference being Merih Demiral, would have to be included.
The Turkey international isn’t entirely happy with his lack of first-team football, and that could cause Juventus to consider putting him up as part of a swap.
Maybe a small amount of money could exchange hands as well, but the general consensus was that it’s a deal that makes sense, and that’s pushed again on Thursday.
Gazzetta dello Sport take a look at the Kean situation once more, both on their website and in their newspaper, stating Juventus intend matching Everton’s asking price ‘with counterparts’ before adding, in brackets, ‘Demiral in the lead’.
That’s also the case online, where they state the Serie A champions ‘are not discouraged’, wanting him back ‘by inserting a counterpart to lower the economic impact of the operation’, with ‘the right name is that of Demiral’.
They then state ‘it would not be a surprise to see Raiola in Liverpool in the next few days’.
This comes after Corriere dello Sport report that the super agent ‘arrived in Turin on Tuesday’.
While the official business was to meet Matthijs De Ligt, one of his clients, the fact that Juventus want another a couple of his protégés in Kean, Paul Pogba and Gianluigi Donnarumma makes this trip, which only lasted a night, all the more intriguing.
