Besiktas captain Burak Yilmaz has urged Everton forward Cenk Tosun to join him at the Super Lig side.
The 28 year old is said to be looking to find a new club in this transfer window due to a lack of playing time with the Toffees.
Speaking to the Turkish press at the club’s mid-winter training camp in Antalya, Yilmaz was asked about his international teammate re-signing for the Black Eagles.
“We’re good friends. All I can say to him is ‘Come to Besiktas!’. I know he’s a great player. Hopefully he will get what he wants at the end of this period,” said the forward, as covered by Haberturk.
Tosun has been linked with moves to Crystal Palace, Besiktas and Fenerbahce in recent weeks as he looks to regain his form ahead of Euro 2020.
The attacker has hardly figured for Everton this season under three different managers. A move from the Merseyside club seems possible but it’s currently unknown where he will end up.
There have been reports he would prefer to remain in England, which gives Crystal Palace encouragement. However, claims yesterday said Fenerbahce were in talks with his agent and that despite him preferring to stay in the Premier League the door wasn’t closed for the Yellow Canaries.
