Everton striker Moise Kean has admitted he was ‘sorry’ to leave Juventus to join the Toffees but doesn’t know if he’ll be returning to his former club this summer.
Kean joined Everton in a £24.75m deal from Juve back in 2019 but endured a torrid first year on Merseyside last season, managing just one goal in the Premier League.
He had been expected to get more of a chance under Carlo Ancelotti this season but, instead, Everton elected to send him out on loan to Paris Saint Germain for the year.
That has proven to be an extremely smart decision with Kean shining in the French capital, with 16 goals and one assist in 35 games in all competitions so far.
They are keen to keep him but will have to negotiate a deal with Everton, who refused to allow PSG to have a purchase clause included in the deal.
They are not Kean’s only suitors, though, with former club Juventus also thought to be in the running as they want to add another striker to their squad.
Indeed, they are willing to offer Everton players to make a deal happen, with Adrien Rabiot and Merih Demiral thought to be among those they are willing to sacrifice to get Kean back.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, but the striker has hinted he’d like the move with his latest comments.
“To be honest, I was a bit sorry,” he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“Juve gave me everything; I grew up there; without the club, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
“But then I realised that the life of a footballer is like that and I got used to it. I had to take my own path, become a man; it was right. Juve will always remain in my heart.
“I don’t know (if he’ll be back). Now I’m enjoying the semi-finals, then we’ll see. If we knew what happens tomorrow, we’d all be rich.”
